几时要用冠词

我有一个疑问就是为什么句子有时要加a或者an才是对的，但是有时又不让加。

i amnot asking the difference between adding "a" and adding "an" in front of noun as article. what i ask is why sometimes we don't even need article but sometimes it's needed.

冠词分为二种分别是：
1.定冠词
2.不定冠词。
*定冠词的代表有the, 用来特指或确指的东西。
例人:The man is not a good man.
例动物:The bear is eating some honey.
例物体:The restaurant is very crowded.

*不定冠词(零冠词)的代表有a和an用于表示“一个”
a用在前面的字的开头没有a,e,i,o,u的时候
例物体:I need a basket.
例人:There is a man in the bushes.
例动物(不能用animal):There is a bear inside the forest.

an用在前面的字的开头有a,e,i,o,u的时候。
例人:There is an American over there.
例物体:I have an apple.
例动物:The man was thought to be an animal because he behaved in a rough and 　　　 unacceptable way.

其实几时要放a,几时要放an是看那个字的读音，比如你说的university，它的读音是yu，所以要放a
