(I)Find the lowest common multiple for the numbers in Diagram 1.
7 |3, 7,14
---------------
3,1,2
LCM = 7 x 3 x 1 x 2 = 42
(II)If all numbers in Diagram 1 is multiple by 2,what is the new value of the lowest common multiple?
2 |6, 14, 28
---------------
7 | 3, 7, 14
---------------
3, 1, 2
LCM = 2 x 7 x 3 x 1 x 2 = 84
(iii) Without conducting repeated division,state the new LCM if each of the numbers in Diagram 1 is multipled by 7.Give your reason
From (i) the LCM = 42
From (ii), the value times 2, the LCM is also LCM (i) x 2 = 24 x 2.
So, if in (iii), to find out the new LCM after multiplying with 7,
we can use the LCM (i) x 7 = 42 x 7 = 294
The LCM for (iii) is 294
