The function of respiratory system is to take in oxygen and get rid of carbon dioxide.

2. Why is the nose moistened by the mucus?

To make air moist as it passes inwards and to trap bacteria that are carried in the air current.

3. What is the function of aerobic respiration?

Aerobic respiration is a chemical reaction where oxygen is used to break down glucose and release energy.

4. Why is the rings of cartilage in "C" shape and what does it do that affects trachea?

It keeps the trachea open and prevents it from collapsing. So, air can be kept moving in and out of your body.

5. What does alveoli do?

Alveoli allow maximum amount of gas to be exchanged across the surface in the least amount of time.
