Ten students and a teacher were rescued from a boat yesterday after they became stranded at sea while sailing towards Langkawi Island.
According to 11-year-old Meng Leong, who was among the group, they initially felt bored when the boat came to a halt. However, heavy rainfall and increasingly strong waves soon caused anxiety and fear among the passengers.
The rocking of the boat became so intense that one student nearly fell off, but fortunately, the teacher was able to prevent this by holding on tightly. Laila, another student, described the experience as terrifying.
The group was eventually rescued by a helicopter. Thankfully, everyone, including the captain, arrived safely on Langkawi Island.
